Do LBM’s multimedia solutions work on various client platforms? Are the courses Left Brain Media develops AICC / SCORM compliant? Yes. Courses that are going to be integrated into a Learning Management System (LMS) often need to be AICC / SCORM compliant. Even if you aren’t using an LMS now, you may in the future. That is why we build every course to be compatible with AICC HACP, AICC API, and SCORM API. What SCORM information is passed back to the server? LBM utilizes the CMI specification within SCORM to communicate the following data to the Learning Management System: lesson location, lesson status, score, and session time. We also activate and deactivate course sessions with LMS Initialize and Finish Commands for each course. What question types do your quiz and test engines support? At LBM, our quiz and test engines support the following question formats: - Multiple choice, with either one or multiple correct answers - True or false - Fill-in-the-blank - Categorization - Ordering - Matching Do LBM’s courses work on both low and high-bandwidth Internet connections? We set up every course so that it will operate over both high- and low- bandwidth (56K) connections. Failure to do so is likely to disenfranchise many of your employees working at remote office locations or wishing to train from home or while traveling. How long does it take LBM to develop a course? It can take less than a week if the content is already 100% ready. Our process is streamlined, which allows for rapid turn times. Customers are often surprised that in such a short period we can create a program for review. Before we begin any project, we can help you scope out a timeline for both our team and any resources from your team that will be involved in the project. How will I check the progress of my projects? You will have direct access to the project manager for your project. If you are developing more than one or two course modules, we will set up and manage a web page so you can monitor the status of every project or training module we are building for you. This site is constantly updated as the project advances through the production process. You can see where each project is every step of the way, whether it be asset gathering, LBM content review, storyboard development, asset development, client review, changes, etc. Example status page:

Does LBM ever partner in the cost of development of training programs? A majority of our work is done on a time and materials basis, and some work is done on a fixed cost basis. However, depending on the training content, we will consider such a shared profit arrangement. We do currently have projects in development with this kind of arrangement. What type of interactivity do LBM courses have? That depends upon the material. We have set up problem-solving scenarios, or simulators, where users choose a course of action and follows it until they finally reach a resolution of the issue at hand. We also use software engines that allow us to quickly set up interactive quizzes, complete with music, voice-over, and a wide variety of question types. To guide the user from one point to the next and to stimulate thinking, we often use pop-up questions interspersed throughout the material. At LBM, we ensure that the programs we deliver operate on both PCs and Macs with small or large screens.
