Overview
An LMS is a software program used to automate the administrative tasks of training such as registering users, tracking courses in a catalog, recording data from users, charting a users progress toward certification, and providing reports to managers. Many systems include their own authoring capabilities for creating e-Learning courses, but deliver weak results. Instead, the focus is to manage courses created by other sources, and vendors.
There are numerous Learning Management Systems on the market, and their prices and functionality vary greatly. Left Brain Media is not here to sell you an LMS, nor do we benefit from recommending one LMS over another. However, we have worked with many of them and we are informed about what systems are on the market. We know some popular ones that are lemons, and others that perform well. We also know that there is no one-size-fits all system, and your organizations unique needs play a tremendous part in the selection.
We share this industry knowledge as we consult with our clients. We can help you evaluate:
- whether you need an LMS;
- what features you need;
- which LMS is best for you;
- where the LMS should reside; - whether to buy or rent the LMS;
- and more.
